Edging ever closer to release is the remake of 2005 action-adventure Shadow of the Colossus, an art-house game which dissected the nature of good versus evil against a backdrop of ethereality and iconoclasm. Fans of the original soundtrack can now enjoy its musical evolution in a first-pressing 2xLP courtesy of iam8bit.
Fresh off the heels of their triumph against M. Bison in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Ryu and Sakura are trading roundhouse kicks for the elusive pursuit of fearsome beasts in Monster Hunter: World. Announced by Capcom’s Yuri Araujo, the union of franchises will allow players to acquire Street Fighter armour for both Ryu and Sakura, as well as the option to alter character voices to match.
Cute is not a word the average person would associate with Jason Voorhees. Yet somehow, voxel connoisseur Blue Wizard Digital has found a niche way to transform the horrific into an adorable, humorous, isometric slash-a-thon in a style heavily resembling Slayaway Camp.
My eyes always sparkle in the presence of computer mice that dare to innovate — those which point boldly where no mouse has pointed before — and, though its ergonomic gaming mice look basic overall, Cougar is a company whose ethos is built upon a double helix of innovation. The Cougar Surpassion Gaming Mouse follows the script, waltzing out of its paper box unostentatiously; its size is faintly reminiscent of the Minos X5, and a 13-colour backlight effect adds some illuminative flair in the darkness. It’s crowning jewel, however, is cleverly concealed.
Monolith Soft’s widely acclaimed RPG, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is set to receive a new game + mode with the next patch for the title.
Microsoft and Rare Games’ Sea of Thieves closed beta reception has been pretty positive so far. The beta also got extended to January 31st due to technical issues during the first couple of days.
Final Fantasy XIV patch 4.2: Rise of a New Sun goes live on January 30, and it adds a plethora of new content to the game.
After the recent reveal of Ubisoft’s plans to release several Rainbow Six Siege special editions and limited-time Outbreak packs, the studio received quite a bit of backlash because as a result of these special editions, the regular $40 of the title will be removed from the market.
