A Way Out was originally announced during last year’s E3 show, and it completely blew everybody away with how unique and innovative its concept was. The gaming industry had numerous cooperative titles, but almost all of them adopted the usual online co-op modes where you’re free to choose whether you want to play with a friend or not. You don’t have that choice with A Way Out, since the studio obliges you to play it with a friend. Developed by Hazelight Studios, a young studio led by former Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons director Josef Fares, another well designed and innovative co-op title.
Travelling in a luxury time ship from the Victorian era might sound pretty splendid, but sipping earl grey and embarking on scotch pie binges can get rather boring I’m afraid. That’s why Blazing Griffin is channeling James Moriarty in Murderous Pursuits, a devillishly good looking assassination adventure in which cunning and camouflage are your best friends. Your aim is to silently slaughter your targets without revealing your identity. The one catch is, they’ll be plotting your doom at the same time.
In the spirit of Easter celebrations, Sony has dropped a wide range of games down to discount prices for those looking to spend time with their beloved console rather than family (I’m one of those people tbh). Some of the featured games include Battlefield 1 Premium Pass, Assassin’s Creed Origins – Season Pass, Tom Clancy’s The Division – Season Pass, The Sims 4 Bundle and more.
The open-world co-op adventure from Rare Studios, Sea of Thieves released on Tuesday to Xbox One and PC platforms -and it seems like the pregame buildup has paid off pretty well, the game hit 1 million players in the first 24hrs of launch.
Telltale, the studio behind award-winning narrative-based games has been accused of creating a toxic work environment for employees – which isn’t surprising considering a mass amount of talent has actually left the studio since the rapid expansion of the studio. Speaking to the Verge, a former employee detailed their opinion as to why Telltale is becoming less and less of a hot topic of recent.
French team Alt Shift is currently plugged into an indie development chamber making Crying Suns, an intense, FTL: Faster Than Light inspired tactics game. It also swears fealty to Dune and Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series, and takes place in Gehenna, a troubled galaxy which is steadily sliding towards extinction.
After the release of Just Cause 3, Avalanche has been considerably quiet – besides releasing portions of DLC here and there, we haven’t seen much from the team since Rico Rodriguez graced our current generation platforms in 2015.
Last week Friday, Fortnite iOS launched for mobile platform in selected areas, and while the game was only available via invite codes, the mobile port became number 1 on the free-top-play chart, in a matter of hours. Now we have received news that the earnings from the subsequent success have translated pretty well from the hype. According to data from Sensor Tower, which is a company that monitors mobile applications, the game has already generated over $1.5 million USD in revenue, and has reached this in under three days.
In case you missed it, GTA Online is getting a pretty huge racing-themed overhaul. Last week, Rockstar Games generously doubled cash and RP in both Occupy Modes and Bunker Series, and it looks like the benevolent trend is about to continue. Right up until March 26, you’ll be able to join the Hotring Circuit — one of two new racing modes — with 30 other players in a gas-guzzling competition that also multiplies your RP and GTA$ by two. The Hotring Circuit is a classic throwback to GTA: Vice City and brings five new vehicles into the mix: Taipan, Declasse Hotring Sabre, Entity XXR, Vapid GB200 and Vulcar Fagaloa.
