The Biggest Disappointments Of E3 2018

Another E3 has come and gone, with the next calendar year pretty much laid out in terms of new game releases. Unlike most years, no publisher seemed to have a true megaton announcement up their sleeve. Sony primarily talked up games we already knew about such as The Last of Us Part II, Microsoft put a large focus on games without really addressing the Xbox One’s recent struggles, and Nintendo doubled down on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and not much else. That being said, it wasn’t really a down year either, as there were a lot of games to get excited about, with titles such as Ghosts of Tsushima, Rage 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey having particularly strong showings (just to name a few of the dozens of games we’re excited for). read more

Ghost of Tsushima Dev Discusses Game’s Varying Difficulty Settings; Game Can“Wreck You” If You Want

Suker Punch’s samurai action title, Ghost of Tsushima, was showcased during PlayStation’s E3 2018 briefing. The gameplay showcased in the briefing featured some sequences with very quick interactions and duels, and most of the questions were directed towards how Sucker Punch managed the game’s difficulty settings. WCCFTech managed to know from Sucker Punch’s co-founder Chris Zimmerman that the development team managed to create several difficulty settings to cater for all playing styles. read more

The Last of Us Part II Devs Want Players to Feel Consequences of Their Violent Actions

Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us 2, the sequel to the narrative survival title and one of the most critically acclaimed titles, The Last of Us, will feature violent action sequences. Director Neil Druckmann was recently featured in an interview with Kotaku, where he revealed the game’s development team didn’t want them to be mindless and pointless. Instead, they want players to feel the impact of their actions how it even affects people close to them, describing it as “the most honest way” to depict the post-apocalyptic nature of The Last of Us II. read more
