Issues with Destiny 2’s PC move have locked a chunk of players from their characters and DLC

Destiny 2 came to Steam over two weeks ago, and while that’s broadly been a good thing for PC loot shooter fans, it hasn’t been without issue. Migration from Battle.net to Steam still isn’t working for some players, who’ve been unable to access their characters or their Shadowkeep pre-order since launch. Bungie says it’s put some fixes places in place, but it looks like the issues are still ongoing. read more

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has a “Battle Pass system, not a loot box system”

Call of Duty fans have been looking cautiously toward the launch of Modern Warfare, as rumours suggested that the series’ loot boxes – called Supply Drops – would expand beyond cosmetic to include gameplay-affecting items like weapons. After those supply drop rumours, one developer told fans to ignore “half-baked inflammatory” talk, and now Infinity Ward has broken down its plans for post-launch monetisation. read more

Overwatch’s Halloween event is upon us, and while I thought nothing could be scarier than Zenyatta making use of his feet, it turns out I was wrong – the real scare is a weapon sight that’s difficult to see through. Microsoft acquisition allows Obsidian to make games of “better quality”

A little under a year ago, Obsidian Entertainment was acquired by Microsoft. A month after that, the studio announced The Outer Worlds, a sci-fi, space exploration RPG that’s become one of the most anticipated games of 2019. Only a couple of weeks from launch, Obsidian has talked about how beneficial the Microsoft buy-out has been, and the freedom it still has as a company. read more
