Outriders developer People Can Fly has worked on oodles of iconic games. The Polish developer created Gears of War: Judgment, and it worked on Fortnite after Epic Games subsumed the developer in 2013. It has made some fan favourites, too, releasing first-person shooter Bulletstorm in 2011. Bulletstorm developer takes tough stance on microtransactions – so Outriders won’t have them

There’s a lot of People Can Fly’s videogame history in new sci-fi shooter Outriders. Sprinting from cover-to-cover under fire from foes is reminiscent of Gears of War: Judgement, and some of the dark humour will make the most hardened Bulletstorm fan grin. While People Can Fly helped out with Fortnite under the name Epic Games Poland, the battle royale’s microtransactions and games-as-a-service model will not be present in Outriders. read more

PS5 and Xbox Series X mean Outriders’ release date is delayed

You’re going to have to wait a little bit longer to get your hands on Bulletstorm developer People Can Fly’s new shoot ‘em up. The Outriders release date is now set for the holiday period, 2020. The original launch was pencilled in for this summer. There’s no need to panic, though, as it just comes down to forward planning. Speaking to PCGamesN, studio head Sebastian Wojciechowski explains that the developer thought it was wise to release the new game just after the PS5 and Xbox Series X launched, rather than just before. read more

Pay $20 extra for Marvel’s Avengers, play it three days early

Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers is still on track to launch later this year, and pre-orders have gone live across an array of platforms, including Steam. That’s revealed the publisher’s early plans for launch, with all the special editions and pre-order bonuses you’d expect. Squenix is also continuing that practice which nobody seems to like – early access if you buy the expensive version. read more
