The news of the passing of Byron “Reckful” Bernstein, a well-known streamer of World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, has caused a massive outpouring of support across different mediums. Social media is filled with well-wishes and positive memories, and players in World of Warcraft are also gathering in large groups to pay tribute to Reckful.
PlayStation suspended its advertising on Facebook as part of a boycott due to hate speech on the platform. While companies such as EA have taken steps to tackle racist language in their games and platforms, many users and advertisers have been frustrated with Facebook’s inaction in doing the same.
Twitch users were surprised to find a new game that had only sort of been announced become the top game on the streaming service this Thursday morning. Hyper Scape is a brand new battle royale game from Ubisoft, though it’s not currently openly available to play and doesn’t have a release date. But Ubisoft wanted to make Hyper Scape‘s announcement stand out, and to do so, it launched a Technical Test and invited many of Twitch’s most-popular battle royale players to take part.
