Mainstream 3rd Gen Ryzen motherboards might be waiting until 2020 for PCIe 4.0

Mainstream motherboards for AMD 3rd Gen Ryzen might be delayed until the end of the year, according to a new, rather convoluted, report. Insider sources seem to suggest that ASMedia has managed to keep hold of all mainstream PCH orders for AMD’s 500-series motherboard platform, however, the tech company won’t complete relevant PCIe 4.0 solutions until the end of 2019. read more

Tens of thousands of Nvidia GPUs at risk as TSMC manufacturing fault fells production

An incident at one of TSMC’s manufacturing facilities has reportedly ruined tens of thousands of 16/12nm wafers… y’know all those slices of silicon from which spawn Nvidia’s entire current lineup of graphics cards. The problem is down to imported chemicals used in the production process not being as pure as is needed, resulting in contaminated wafers which are then unusable. read more

Intel backs real-time ray tracing to go mainstream, having worked for “many years” to make it a reality

Intel’s Roger Chandler, VP of Core and Visual Computing Group, has reiterated Intel’s interest in real-time ray tracing – the ‘holy grail’ of graphics technology. While Nvidia staves off RTX nonbelievers, Intel’s Chandler, in a GDC partner interview with the Game Developers Conference, reiterated his belief that we will “eventually” see this graphics tech hit the mainstream. read more

Assassin’s Creed is a massive video game franchise and after coming off their latest release, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Ubisoft is taking a break and letting the franchise breath a little. It was announced last year that Ubisoft would be skipping the 2019 year when it comes to bringing out a new Assassin’s Creed video game installment, but that doesn’t mean that the Ubisoft won’t bring out remastered editions. It was already noted that an Assassin’s Creed III video game would be remastered for the current generation platforms, but what wasn’t known is that the game would also release on the Nintendo Switch platform. read more

Square Enix Warns Gamers Over Streaming Kingdom Hearts 3

Tomorrow is the day where gamers are finally able to get their hands on a copy of Kingdom Hearts 3. We’ve waited years for the third main installment to finally release and now that we’re gearing up to its release, we’re finding one more issue which may prove to cause some headaches for gamers.
