The Nintendo Switch was quickly being adopted into the hands of gamers everywhere. As we continue on with this year and slowly into the holiday season, Nintendo is not letting up on excellent video game releases for fans that give a reason for almost everyone to own their hybrid console. However, one feature that was present for a while now that’s soon to be a thing of the past is free online gameplay.
EA DICE’s latest entry in the Battlefield franchise, Battlefield V, enjoyed a successful beta phase, with over hundreds of thousands taking part in it.
Earlier this year, the Australian Senate approved an investigation into loot boxes to be held by the Environment and Communications References Committee. Today, the committee has reported the results of those findings, and the final word is not kind. Among other things noted in the results, the committee says “loot boxes provide games companies with an unregulated way of exploiting gambling disorders amongst their customers.”

When Dead or Alive 6 was announced ahead of E3, the developers at Team Ninja said they wanted to “make the characters less sexualized.” You wouldn’t know it from the special editions releasing in the Japanese market, however. Nvidia is reportedly binning Turing RTX GPUs to ensure the very best of the best chips make their way into factory overclocked graphics cards. The left over silicon is then being picked for reference-clocked SKUs. The green team’s GPUs are sorted into one of two groups before they even leave its warehouses, with GPUs being designated with either an ‘A’ or left blank depending on meeting certain criteria for performance.
With War Thunder, developer Gaijin Entertainment has been putting its experience making historical war games into a dream game that combines combat across land, sea, and air. In development for years now, War Thunder still has some way to go before that dream is properly fulfilled, but the next step for the MMO is about to be taken.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider hasn’t done particularly well in terms of physical sales since its release last week. Lara’s latest adventure has seen physical sales in the UK down 70% compared to the 2013 reboot, and has been held off the top spot by another strong performance by Insomniac’s PlayStation exclusive, Spider-Man.
