The latest World of Warcraft expansion, Battle for Azeroth, is the game’s fastest-selling new release ever. In a press release issued earlier today, Blizzard revealed that 3.4 million units of the new expansion were sold worldwide on its first day alone. Not only is that a sales record for the franchise, it also happens to make Battle for Azeroth “one of the fastest-selling PC games of all-time.”
After the official Xbox Instagram account posted a story showing Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider sat under a great big neon Game Pass sign, it was a natural jump to think that Shadow of the Tomb Raider would be coming to Microsoft’s monthly service. This would be a pretty big deal as, while Microsoft’s first-party games are now launching on Game Pass on release day, the same isn’t true for big third-party games.
This week’s Fortnite update rolled out with a couple of massive changes: Tomato Town is dead and has been replaced by a temple, and there are now a bespoke set of Fortnite Tomatohead challenges for anyone with that skin to complete. There are three of these challenges and you will only unlock the reward item once you have completed all of them. The Tomatohead Crown upgrade is themed to tie into the new Tomato Temple area on the map, with tribal warpaint and a makeshift crown of cutlery to really sell that cult aesthetic.

Rage 2 is the product of a collaboration between two world-class studios: id and Avalanche. But while these studios appear to be working together harmoniously, they do clearly have their differences. Avalanche are based in Sweden, while id call the deep south of America home. That’s two very different cultures. So, if the two developers were to go to war, who would win in a fight? Yes, these are the mad questions that get asked on the intense Gamescom 2018 show floor.
While some fans of the first Life is Strange game have expressed their disappointment that the upcoming Life is Strange 2 won’t see the return of Chloe and Max, the game’s director, Michel Koch, says that new characters Sean and Daniel, are a better fit for the game’s themes.
While the current ray tracing alpha build of Battlefield 5 we’ve been playing with is currently dependent on Nvidia’s RTX graphics cards, that doesn’t have to be the case going forward. Because DICE has built the gorgeous-looking ray traced reflections using Microsoft’s DirectX Ray tracing API, it can be made compatible with any GPU that has support for Microsoft’s upcoming tech.

It is a truth widely acknowledged (among my friends, at least) that Tomato Town is Fortnite’s worst named location. A lack of loot, minimal opportunities for resource gathering, and a chunk of high ground for opportunistic snipers meant that the only reason to drop there was for the benefit of a weekly challenge. Until now.
One of the most frustrating things about many co-op games is that progress is only unlocked for the host player; if you’ve joined a friend’s game, everything you do in their world is of no benefit to your own campaign. Generation Zero is putting a stop to this, though. The 80s-set co-op shooter will save progress for all players, regardless of who’s world you are playing in.
