When it comes to PC gaming there are a number of big-name storefronts for players to get their latest and greatest video game titles. Arguably the biggest would be Steam as it’s been around for years and often delivered a sound service for gamers. Not only can you acquire all of your desired video game titles on one platform but also have access to gamer reviews and a slew of marketplace sales. Over the years we’ve seen a few companies attempt to compete against Valve’s digital marketplace but only recently did a new contender really showcase a good chance at gaining over not only gamers but developers as well.
The Epic Games Store has been around for a good while now and its offered some nice little incentives for gamers to enjoy along with the development team. For instance, if you’re a gamer then you would be delighted to find a new free video game title every two weeks. These titles come with no price tag and provide players with a brand new title to enjoy at their leisure such as Subnautica and Super Meat Boy. However, for the developers, there is a bigger incentive to make their PC video game title releases an Epic Games Store exclusive.
Developers end up with a bigger cut of the revenue for when a gamer purchases a copy. This alone has started to gather some developers to bring over their titles such as Metro Exodus and The Division 2. That didn’t come with some controversy and uproar from gamers who wish to keep enjoying their video game titles through the Valve Steam marketplace. Now gamers are starting to seek out their most anticipated video game titles releasing in the coming year or two in order to find out if they will see the game become an Epic Games Store exclusive.
Yeaaaaaaaaah…. Pass on that.

One of those gamers had reached out to CD Projekt Red who is crafting up the highly anticipated video game release, Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red didn’t elaborate on their reasoning but when asked about the game becoming an Epic Games Store exclusive, the developers were quick to say that they were passing on any exclusivity. Of course, there isn’t a specific release date attached to CD Projekt Red yet, but it does look like the game won’t be tied to any one particular digital storefront.
