Death Stranding Was Made With Less Than 100 Developers In Just 3 Years

Ever since the very public split between Hideo Kojima and Konami, it’s been a hype fest when it comes to Kojima’s debut title afterwards. Since the split, the worldwide famed developer has decided to open up his video game development studio known as Kojima Productions to bring out Death Stranding. Being exclusive to the PlayStation 4, it was quite impressive to see this game not only get announced but make it through development in just three years.

When it comes to big AAA video game titles, there’s a good chance that hundreds of employees are working on the project in a variety of aspects. Not only is there a large group of workers trying their best to develop a solid product for players to enjoy, but there is a good chance that these projects are in development for several years. As a result, Hideo Kojima decided to comment on how he managed to get the game out as fast as possible.

With just about eighty employees the studio is bringing out the game in November. One of the reasons that the studio was able to get the game out quickly is the fact that Kojima Productions did not have to develop an engine for the game. Another reason according to the developer is that he is doing everything possible in-house. By doing this, Hideo Kojima can keep the production rolling as quickly as possible. Likewise, Hideo claims to never shelf decisions, so anything that he needs to decide on for the production he will decide right away and progress forward. 

For those of you who are interested in playing Death Stranding, you can mark your 2019 calendars. This PlayStation 4 exclusive is set to launch on November 8, 2019.
