Since Doom launched the game franchise became an instant classic. Players have seen the franchise grow into several installments, reboots and fan games over the years though the latest reboot gave a real resurgence to the series overall. When Doom launched in 2016, developers Id Software gave players a classic action-horror experience.

The game was a huge hit and it didn’t come to any surprise when Bethesda unveiled a sequel announcement during their E3 2018 press conference. Little information was shared during their press event as gamers were forced to wait until the annual QuakeCon event in order to finally see some gameplay footage.

While the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms were a safe bet for the game to launch on, we were curious as to if the game would find a launch day release on the Nintendo Switch. A tweet cleared things up when the official Doom account stated that the title will launch on all of the platforms noted.

The Nintendo Switch platform port is actually being developed outside of Id Software. Instead, the development team over at Panic Button is behind the release for Nintendo Switch and while PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms will run the title in 60 frames per second the Nintendo Switch version will only bring out 30 frames per second.

Doom Eternal is essentially a remake of Doom 2 where players will be battling a number of different demons that have flooded down on Earth. Gameplay footage has also shown off some new weaponry along with enemies that we’ll be facing against when the title eventually launches.
