Frogwares Quietly Delays The Sinking City?

If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on the Lovecraft inspired The Sinking City then you’re going to need a bit more patience as it appears to have been delayed. It was noted by PC Gamer that the video game was originally displayed with a release date of March 21, 2019 on the Steam marketplace. Unfortunately, it looks like the date was taken down and now in its place is a 2019 placeholder. So far no word has been given out as to why the game is being held back but for now, it seems we’ll be waiting just a bit longer.

For those unaware, this is an action-adventure survival horror video game which follows a supernatural flood in a city known as Oakmont. Players will follow a private investigator by the name of Charles W. Reed who is helping to find out what is causing the flood and prevent the city from collapsing in the amount of hysteria and panic. Originally, this game was meant to be a Call of Cthulhu title until the development team opted to make a more creative decision control, as a result, we’re getting The Sinking City and it so far looks incredibly intriguing. Quite a few of us here at Gameranx is eager to see the game release and being an open investigation title, we imagine there is plenty of work going into the title.

At any rate, we’re wondering when the new release date will be revealed or if we’ll get word that this title release date was simply a mistake and gamers will see receive The Sinking City on March 21, 2019, for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms. For now, though, we’ll have to wait and see for ourselves if Frogwares makes any official announcement.
