The WWE are already missing the likes of Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns due to some sort of contagious virus spreading around the locker room, had Neville basically walk out of the company, and Nia Jax currently written out of the storyline for some undisclosed reason. To make matters worse, they are now without former United States and Universal champion Kevin Owens.
Owens, who recently competed against Shane McMahaon in a Hell in a Cell match and then rekindled his friendship with former arch rival Sami Zayn, bolted in the middle of SmackDown’s tour of house shows in South America to fly home. Speculation began to run rampant, but Owens quickly tweeted out a brief explanation.
I’m not sick. I’m not hurt. My family needed me home. Thank you to @WWE & the fans in Argentina & Chile for their support and understanding.

It sounds like something deeply personal, so we’ll point out that why he needed to be with family is none of our business. However, there are now multiple reports that the WWE has no official timetable for his return. We hope that doesn’t mean something very bad or very tragic has happened to Owens’ family, and that it’s just a matter of him needing to talk to his bosses about how long he needs to be off.
In the meantime, the story continues with Shane invading Raw and Sami’s fresh heel turn. Here’s hoping things are okay for Owens and that he returns whenever he’s able to.
