With Artifact, Valve are tossing their hat into the ring of digital card games based on popular game franchises. Following in the footsteps of The Elder Scrolls: Legends, Gwent, and Hearthstone, the minds behind Steam and Half-Life are making a card game out of the mechanics and lore of Dota 2, their immensely popular MOBA. The result is Artifact: The Dota Card Game, which was first announced at The International 2017 with an exceptionally brief teaser trailer and vague release date.  read more


Artifact launches in November for $20

Valve’s next game, Artifact, will launch November 28 on Steam at a price of $20 USD, with iOS and Android versions to follow in 2019. Fans will be able to go hands on at PAX in Seattle, WA ahead of release, with that event running from August 31 through September 3. Yes, folks – we’re on the cusp of the release of a new game from Valve, and even if it’s not Half-Life 3 that’s a serious meme-killer. read more

League of Legends patch 8.16: Nexus Blitz and Cosmic Skins

League of Legends’ next big content patch is 8.16, introducing Nexus Blitz. Patch 8.16 is a smaller update, part of Riot’s bi-monthly alternating patch schedule, so at the moment we’re a little light on balance changes, although there’s plenty of new skins to take a look at, as well as that fancy new “experimental” game mode.  read more
