Ric Flair Was Hospitalized and No One Seems To Know How Serious It Is [Updated]

According to Jimmy Van of Fightful.com, Ric Flair has been placed in a medically induced coma as of Monday morning. We will continue to update this post as information becomes available. The original post remains below.

Legendary pro wrestler Ric Flair was taken to the hospital Saturday morning and reportedly checked into the ICU. However, the news since then hasn’t been very clear on why Flair went to the hospital in the first place, or how he’s currently doing.

The first statement came from Flair’s representation group, Legacy Talent:

“Yes, Ric is checked into a hospital for some routine monitoring. No, there is no reason to panic. Yes, we’d like to thank his fiancé & the incredible hospital staff who are providing the best care. No, we cannot answer any personal questions. Yes, Ric would want you to go out and have a great weekend … Nature Boy style!”

While words like “routine monitoring” and “no reason to panic” were comforting to hear, wrestling fans quickly grew concerned again when Flair’s manager tweeted this out on late Sunday night:

Shortly after that, Rory Karpf echoed those thoughts in a tweet of his own. Karpf is the director of the upcoming ESPN 30 for 30 documentary about Flair’s life, simply titled Nature Boy. It’s scheduled to be released November 7.

The WWE have not officially commented on Flair’s health issues, but then again, he’s not a regular employee for the company. He appears sporadically on WWE television, often alongside his daughter Charlotte, who is a multiple-time Women’s Champion. Flair is 68-years-old, but a lifetime in the pro wrestling business (not to mention his legendary hard partying ways) has surely taken its toll on the Nature Boy.

Stay tuned to Goliath for any updates on Flair’s condition. In the meantime, keep Flair and his family in your thoughts. Hopefully the Nature Boy kicks out of whatever is trying to put him down for the count.
