SOMA, the survival horror title from Frictional Games has just received a new option allowing players to explore the mysterious underwater facility without the fear of death. Previously the update was on available for Xbox One and PC – now PS4 players will be able to hop into this unsettling sci-fi title.
The developer Frictional Games explained how Safe Mode works as follows, “Our goal has been for Safe Mode to not feel like a cheat, but for it to be a genuine way of experiencing the game. So we’ve considered what each creature should be doing, given their appearance, sound, and voice”.
Frictional wants players to experience the game for its story, which is why they updated the title so that players daunted by the difficulty won’t be afraid to pick up the title.
Enter the world of SOMA and face horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Delve through locked terminals and secret documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Seek out the last remaining inhabitants and take part in the events that will ultimately shape the fate of the station. But be careful, danger lurks in every corner: corrupted humans, twisted creatures, insane robots, and even an inscrutable omnipresent A.I.
You will need to figure out how to deal with each one of them. Just remember there’s no fighting back, either you outsmart your enemies or you get ready to run.
SOMA is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
