On launch day, Borderlands 3’s peak concurrent PC player count doubled the all-time peak for Borderlands 2. That’s according to Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, who tweeted the info Friday evening, almost exactly 24 hours after the game launched on PC.

As you’ve probably heard – repeatedly, unceasingly, for the past several months – the Epic Games store does not have all the features that Steam offers. Plenty of those features are on the store’s update roadmap, but a lot of them were quietly delayed not long ago. But now, those features have finally launched. A couple of them, anyway.
If you need to play the PC version of Borderlands 3 the instant it launches, here’s a bit of bad news: the Epic Games store will not support pre-loading by the Borderlands 3 release date. Epic boss Tim Sweeney has confirmed the news on Twitter, which will no doubt add yet another dose of gasoline to the burning fire of discourse around the platform.
Earlier this week Borderlands fan and YouTuber Matt “SupMatto” Somers alleged that private investigators sent by Take-Two Interactive turned up at his property and questioned him about the content of some of his videos. Now, it’s been confirmed that Somers’ videos have been the subject of a wider investigation by the company – but some fans have some concerns.
Borderlands 3’s Guardian ranks will provide a new form of post-game progression. Similar to Badass ranks, the new system was announced by creative director Paul Sage at E3 2019.
SungWon Cho – perhaps better known as YouTube’s ProZD – will be in Borderlands 3 as the voice of FL4K, the game’s playable Beastmaster. The news was announced on the E3 Coliseum stage today along, and ProZD confirmed it shortly afterward. It’s hardly his first videogame role, but it is certainly the highest profile casting yet.
Tiny Tina will fight alongside the vault hunters in Borderlands 3, it has been confirmed by Paul Sage, the game’s creative director, at the PCGaming E3 conference today.
