Star Wars Battlefront 2‘s next big content drop, Battle on Scarif, has been delayed again. Developer EA DICE has announced the update, which will bring the Galactic Civil War era to the Supremacy and Instant Action game modes, as well as a new map set, hero appearances, and other goodies to the game, is now due to arrive to “later in the month of April”.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 continues its path of free updates well into 2020, and just ahead of the BB update – which makes BB-8 a playable hero – the developers at DICE have revealed what’s next for the game. That’s a return to the Original Trilogy and Age of Rebellion starting in February, including new Supremacy maps set on Scarif and Death Star II.
There will be those that use the force for good, and those that use the force for evil. By force, I mean modding abilities, and by good and evil, well you can decide which mod this falls under. This mod will allow you to put the Pope into Star Wars Battlefront II – if you so choose.
Star Wars: Battlefront II gets a whole host of new Rise of Skywalker-inspired content ahead of the film’s release later this week, but you’re going to have to wait a few extra days to see the new map. The update mostly launches on December 17, but the as-yet-unnamed new planet will go live on December 20, so as not to spoil the content before the film is out.
Against all odds, Star Wars Battlefront II has become a game people simply play and enjoy – and not just the poster child for the industry’s monetisation problems. That’s thanks in large part to a lengthy run of free content updates, and this week’s batch promises plenty of substantial new stuff. Plus, the developers are teasing new content for the impending release of the Rise of Skywalker.
