When a franchise begins to gain exposure, it seems almost inevitable that two things will happen. The first is that fans will start shipping different character combinations, creating vast fantasies in which these often unlikely pairings end up together. The second is that someone will start a petition about something. Today these two worlds collide, as Ayrton Pask has created a petition asking CD Projeckt to unite Geralt and Jaskier/Dandelion in The Witcher.
As the Netflix show, based on both the novels and games of The Witcher, continues to grow in popularity fans are truly uniting behind its stars. Many have fallen in love with Henry Cavill’s smoldering portrayal of Witcher Geralt of Rivia, and many more adore his bard Dandelion, known as Jaskier in the show.

Ayrton has combined these two loves into a ship which we are still trying to find a name for. Gerskier? Jaralt? Danderalt? Gerdelion? Whatever its final name, which is sure to be glorious, we can always get behind the uniting of two of our favorites, especially when it brings some LGBTQ+ rep into the equation.
Currently, the cause needs some help as, as the time of writing just 105 people have signed the petition. If you need some convincing we’ll hand you over to the creator, who can offer his wisdom.
Pask says “The relationship between Geralt and Dandelion is a very unique and comedic one that has been portrayed very well in the books, games and most recently the Netflix series.
Their relationship is one of contrast where Geralt takes the role of a dark moody character and his, probably best, friend and occasional sidekick is often utilized as the comedic release.
It is clear that, even though Geralt tries to hide it, they care about each other and have genuine respect for each other. This unique relationship has the potential to be a beautiful and very comedic story.”
We could certainly tell in the show how much Jaskier adores Geralt, composing the quite frankly genius song, “Toss A Coin to Your Witcher,” in an effort to boost his dire reputation. Jaskier clearly wants everyone to love Geralt as much as he does.
He is pretty successful, with the song at least. Almost everyone who has watched the show is still singing the catchy tune and loving every minute. However, we’re slightly less sure of Geralt’s affection for his musical sidekick.
Regardless, Pask has plans and he’s being realistic about them. He states that he knows an “entire standalone game” is unrealistic so instead he’s pushing for Witcher 3 DLC that will add Dandelion as a romantic option.
If he succeeds remains to be seen but those who want to support his cause can sign the petition and begin to spread the word.
