There’s a cryptic livestream for Cyberpunk 2077 in progress

And once again the advertising around Cyberpunk 2077 continues to get more mysterious. CD Projekt has kicked off a continuous livestream supposedly of Cyberpunk 2077, titled ‘DATA TRANSMISSION IN PROGRESS_’, but in reality it’s actually a long string of letters, numbers and symbols that seem totally random.

More likely is that this “data transmission” either means something or is building up to something. There are plenty of theories and dates, but the most likely theory seems to be a release of a Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay video, probably taken from the demo shown to press at E3 and Gamescom. The demo was apparently taken from a “real build” of the game, so we’re shocked the public hasn’t been able to see it so far.

Well, that could be coming to an end. Several Italian websites are apparently promising something big happening on a stream at 19:00 CET/18:00 BST/10:00 PST, including, who posted the information along with a screenshot of Cyberpunk 2077. The other websites are strongly hinting that it’s about the game too.

The livestream could be counting down to a gameplay reveal (if so, we’ll know in a few hours), otherwise members of the Cyberpunk Discord channel have their own ideas, including the suggestion that the cryptic livestream is part of the new ARG that kicked off from a batch of concept art released at Gamescom.

One of the suggestions, for example, is that something is actually going to happen next Monday, September 3, thanks to an email the ‘winners’ of the ARG received – with a bunch of attached pictures, that when merged seem to give a date. Looking at it more closely, the file merely translates to “Monday”, which could just as well mean today.

So what does all this mean? Heck if we know, but we’ll certainly be keeping that Twitch feed open a few hours.
