Twitch Rolls Out New Mid-Roll Ads and People Hate It

In a surprising move, Twitch has started to place automated mid-roll ads during livestreams for some viewers. According to the company, this is meant to support the creators, but the concept has been poorly received, thus far. When the ads begin, the stream is muted and the image is shrunk, with the rest of the window being taken up by the ad. Across social media, users have reported that commercials are hurting their enjoyment of these streams, arguing that it takes away from the experience. Black Ops Cold War Reveals Major Improvement From Modern Warfare

A Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War developer has revealed a major improvement from Modern Warfare, or at least a major improvement in the eyes of many players. When the newest Black Ops game hits PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC this November, it will do so with some Modern Warfare features, like skill-based matchmaking, but it’s also dumping or refining plenty of features from last year’s installment as well. Final Fantasy XIV’s next update hopes to solve its housing shortage

Twitch Removes Stereotypical Emotes Meant To Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Earlier today, Twitch announced several initiatives to kick off National Hispanic Heritage Month, a 30-day period for celebrating the “histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.” As part of this, Twitch added the ability to customize emotes with accessories from those cultures, but after criticism about stereotypes, Twitch has removed and apologized for them. read more

Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on PC and Xbox One are losing one of their most popular games tomorrow.
