Assassin’s Creed Jade may slip to 2025

Ubisoft has been working with Tencent on Assassin’s Creed Jade for a while now, a mobile Assassin’s Creed game with console-like graphics and an open world. While the game was expected to be arriving fairly soon, new reports indicate that the game has been delayed more than a full year.

According to sources familiar with Tencent’s operations, speaking with Reuters, Tencent recently “redeployed” hundreds of developers from the team working on Assassin’s Creed Jade, shuffling them over to another mobile game called DreamStar.

While Assassin’s Creed Jade was previously expected to arrive in 2024, in part due to a polished looking gameplay leak in 2023, the game may now be delayed to 2025.

While this mobile spin-off might not be making its way out this year, Ubisoft’s next major game, Assassin’s Creed Red, should be releasing in late 2024, finally giving fans a campaign set in feudal Japan.

KitGuru Says: Ubisoft has not responded to these reports, nor has Tencent, so we’ll have to wait and see. If Assassin’s Creed Red makes it out this year, that could put the franchise back in a stronger position to draw in interest for Assassin’s Creed Jade in 2025.
