While getting a grasp on time these past few months has been difficult, we are at the halfway point for Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season 4. With this milestone, Activision has revealed a massive content update being dubbed Season 4 Reloaded.
The bulk of the content is Warzone focused, but players will be happy to know that there will be content for regular multiplayer modes. This content update is relatively large but will give players some new toys to test out. Here’s what you can find in this massive update.
Season 4 Reloaded released at 11 p.m. PDT on June 29. The most significant change that comes with this update is the new 200 player Warzone mode that will now have a total of 50 squads of 4 dropping into Verdansk. If 200 player mayhem was not enough, Activision is adding a new Juggernaut Royale mode, where players drop into Verdansk, and one lucky player will find a care package that turns them into a juggernaut. The juggernaut tries to survive as long as possible as other players try to kill the juggernaut to spawn a new care package so someone else can take on the role.
Juggernaut royale sounds somewhat similar to the Thanos event Fornite had a while ago. Fans of the fire sale event will be happy to learn about the new supply run contracts that will direct players to specific stores that will give squads the chance to get discounted items. For multiplayer players can enjoy the new Team Defender, where one team tries to capture and hold onto a flag for as long as possible, while the opposition attempts to kill the flag carrier, and steal the flag.
An exciting new piece of gear is the spotter scope. The spotter scope is, as the name suggests, a tool to scope out environments, but it has the benefit of not creating a scope glint. Players may want to have a spotter scope handy to not give their position away by scanning areas with a sniper. Speaking of snipers, players will also see the introduction of the new .50 caliber Rytec AMR. We have to wait for more extensive testing of this new rifle, but here is hoping it’s a powerful new contender in the sniping meta.
For multiplayer, developers are introducing a new map titled Chesire Park. While a new map is fun, the more interesting piece of information is in the image above, where we have a screenshot of a new operator in front of stadium. At a glance, nothing seems out of the ordinary. But if you take a look at the stadium, we see some banners in front, including new posters of athletes and on the upper left of the image some type of construction equipment on the roof of the stadium. As of now the stadium is still closed off to players, but perhaps this is building towards a grand opening later in the year.
Players that own the full game can expect upwards of a 36 GB install for this update, while free-to-play Warzone players can expect at most 30 GB. However, once the update is installed, “there will be a reduction to the overall footprint on their machines.” So do not worry too much about bloat. There is a lot packed into this update, with new store content, new operators, and new skins to purchase. Season 4 Reloaded is already shaping up to be a great content update that will hopefully bring some freshness to the Modern Warfare experience.
