Final Fantasy 4 Gets Big Update On Steam, iOS, And Android

Most of the updates are specific to Steam, but all three versions are seeing the massive discount.

Square Enix has updated Final Fantasy 4 on iOS, Android, and Steam, with PC users seeing the biggest changes. No matter which of the platforms you play on, however, you can take advantage of a discounted price – Final Fantasy 4 is currently 50% off.

Normally retailing for $14.99, the game is available for $7.99 on Steam. iOS and Android are offering a slightly better deal, with a discount to just $6.99. Both mobile and PC versions are excellent reimaginings of the classic title – with bold new graphics to bring it to a new generation of players. Here’s all the new content you can expect to find on Steam with this latest update:

  • Completely new interface
  • Gamepad compatibility optimized
  • Adjustments to keyboard and mouse controls
  • Full-screen option added
  • Added 21:9 aspect ratio
  • New language settings – Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), Korean, Thai, Japanese
  • Various bug fixes

The additions on iOS and Android are much more minor:

  • Full opening movie added
  • Big screen support for larger devices
  • Bug fixes

Originally released in 1991, Final Fantasy 4 was the first game in the series to use the Active Combat System. This system went on to become a stable of the series and offered players a more dynamic gameplay experience than traditional turn-based games.

Final Fantasy 4 is available on iOS, Android, and Steam. The 50% discount is expected to run until November 8.
