Free games to play this weekend (30-31 March)

Enjoy Easter time with these weekend freebies.

Hey there! If you thought chocolate eggs were the only treats you’d be getting this Easter weekend, think again. We’re back with another selection from the hamper basket of gaming goodness, including the latest Epic Games weekly freebie, a limited-time GOG giveaway, and a big upcoming PlayStation-exclusive demo.

Scroll down to find out what games are available for free right now — for the next few days, as part of your current subscriptions, or to claim and keep forever.

Free games to keep (Epic Games Store, GOG, PS Store)

Let’s start with the games you can get for free permanently, shall we? This time out, you’ve got 5 PC games to pick up, including an excellent indie metroidvania game, a demo for Stellar Blade (your progress will carry over into the full game), and the first chapter of Dredge — a fishing game with an intriguing Lovecraftian subplot.

Free to play for the weekend (PC, Xbox, PlayStation)

If you can prize yourself away from the chocolate this weekend, there are some tasty timed trials to savor. Console players can enjoy a 5-hour visit to Night City, Xbox players have the opportunity to take a 2-hour trip back in time to 9th-century Baghdad in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and Steam users are invited to an Easter hunt of a different kind in Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Additionally, if you’re an Xbox Game Pass member (Core or Ultimate), you’ll also be able to play a Naruto title and Black Desert as part of Xbox Free Play Days.

Free with subscription (Game Pass, Prime Gaming, and more)

A few interesting titles have dropped across gaming subscription services this week. There’s the long-anticipated arrival of Diablo IV on XGP, the relaxing time sink that is Bus Simulator 21: Next Stop (Prime Gaming), and another F-Zero game has come to the NSO + Expansion Pack catalog. We’ve got the full roundup below.
