Today Compile Heart released a teaser trailer that explicitly mentions a new upcoming game, possibly within the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise.
The trailer includes imagery from the franchise including heroine Neptune herself, on top of what appear to be censored character profiles of girls including the CEO of a game development company and someone who wants to be called “Professor.”
The imagery in the trailer appears to hint at the possibility of it being set in a game development studio, but that’s more or less just my speculation. What we do know is that it’s going to be revealed in the issue of the Japanese gaming magazine Weekly Famitsu released on Thursday, March 23. This means that the official reveal will come when it’s already Wednesday in the west. That being said, Famitsu often leaks early, so we may know before the magazine actually hits the newsstands and digital storefronts.
Of course, while Neptune and further imagery from the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise do appear, we can’t know for sure whether the new game will belong to the series or not. It could even be one of the many spin-offs that Compile Hearts likes to occasionally develop.
You can check out the teaser trailer for yourself below.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Hyperdimension Neptunia series, it’s basically Compile Heart’s flagship franchise, having debuted all the way back in 2010 and counting about 20 games between mainline ones, remakes, spin-offs, and even crossovers.
Of course,e you can expect a full report here on TechRaptor as soon as the new game is officially announced by Compile Heart. For the west, we’ll probably have to wait longer, as Idea Factory International tends to wait at least a few months before announcing localizations.
