A Dino Crisis remake has long been an exciting prospect for fans of Capcom’s classic survival games series. There’s a fan remake in the works and the studio’s hint at an “unannounced project” it wanted Resident Evil ‘ambassadors’ to test late last year got fans pretty animated about a possible return to Ibis Island. Whether a Dino Crisis title is on the horizon isn’t clear, but fortunately there’s now a mod for the newly-released Resident Evil 3 that basically turns the game into a Dino Crisis remake.

Resident Evil 3 – as well as its lumbering antagonist, Nemesis – is now out in the wild, which means modders are busy fiddling with it. One of those modders is Massihancer, who recently released a terrific-looking ray tracing mod for Resident Evil 2. Now he’s gone and done the same thing for Resident Evil 3, making Nemesis’ rictus grin catch every last beam of light available.
Resident Evil 3‘s iconic, big bad Raccoon City botherer Nemesis is a tricky customer. He can’t actually be killed and he’s difficult to fend off even for a few seconds as you plan your heroic sprints up alleyways away from him. Ironically, however, you might have an easier time in the long run if you do tackle him from time to time – The Nemesis drops some key, very handy goodies when you pound on him, but only at specific moments.
If you ever played Resident Evil 3, you’ll remember one big, bad boss in particular – the dreaded Nemesis. Giant, terrifying, and able to burst through walls, Nemesis is naturally going to feature in a big way in the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake. But it’s now possible to truly make him the star of the show, thanks to a mod that subs out every enemy in the game for the T Type monster, himself.
There’s more ’90s remake news today, but don’t worry – this one’s not a delay. The Resident Evil 3 remake release date is still set for April 3, and now we’ve got a fresh trailer showcasing our first look at a bunch of reimagined characters and enemies from RE3, including more than you ever wanted to know about Nemesis’ “slimy appendages”.
Resident Evil 3’s Nemesis makes his big comeback in next year’s remake, but it seems the BOW isn’t content to wait for the Resident Evil 3 remake release date. The monster has made a small appearance in a new version of the Resident Evil 2 demo, and it’s just one part of a pattern of easter eggs bleeding into this year’s hit remake.
“You were almost a Jill sandwich!” With those words, Barry Burton cemented Resident Evil’s place as delightfully schlocky B-movie camp – alongside its position in the gaming horror canon, of course. While the line sadly got a whole lot less cheesy in the REmake, Capcom clearly knows its own classics. That’s the only reason I can imagine we’re getting a new Resident Evil character named Martin Sandwich.
Resident Evil 3‘s remake is one of the games industry’s worst kept secrets, and publisher Capcom has finally decided to officially confirm it during PlayStation’s State of Play stream. The Resi remake will come to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3, 2020 – and it will contain all of Project Resistance as a separate 4-player co-op mode.

One of these is Capcom, which is participating in the Steam Autumn Sale by offering low prices on titles like Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry, and Street Fighter.
