Zubat Spotlight Hour (March 2024): Last Minute Guide

Pokémon Spotlight Hour will feature a different Pokémon and special bonus for one hour at 6:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday during the month of April. Zubat Spotlight Hour takes place on April 2nd, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm local time, with 2× Transfer Candy bonus.

This Spotlight Hour is the first April 2024 Pokémon spotlight, and it is especially interesting as Zubat can be shiny and you will get 2x Candy on transfer! In other words, it’s a great time to have a clear out of your Pokémon storage.

We advise that if you have any spare Mewtwo from the Shadow Mewtwo Returns weekend (March 30th and 31st), transfer them during this event for 2x that precious legendary candy! This applies to Tapu Lele candy too, or in fact any Legendary you have been saving!

Trainers who plan to participate should be prepared with a Mega Pokémon to maximise candy gains per Zubat caught. Here’s everything you need to know!

If you started the Glimmers of Gratitude Masterwork Research during the Road to Sinnoh event and need a boost on stage 1, catching Zubat will help you with the ‘Catch 492 Pokémon from the Kanto Region’ task.

Zubat fact sheet

Zubat

Zubat is a Poison and Flying-type Pokémon with a Max CP of 754 in Pokémon GO. Zubat’s best moveset is Bite and Sludge Bomb. It is weather boosted by Cloudy and Windy weather, and it was originally found in the Kanto region. Shiny Zubat is available in Pokémon GO.

Zubat is weak to Electric, Ice, Psychic, and Rock-type moves. It takes reduced damage from Fairy, Ground, Poison, Bug, Fighting, and Grass-type moves.

Shiny Zubat

For all the completionists out there, there is a small difference between the male and female Zubat and Golbat. For both of these mon, the females have smaller teeth!

If you’re shiny hunting during this spotlight, this is thankfully an easy one to spot! The usual blue on Zubat turns into a bright green – so you’re not going to miss this one easily!

Mega Pokémon that boost Zubat

The following Pokémon will grant you extra bonuses when catching  Zubat if they are Mega evolved.

Mega Catch Bonus

While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.

Is it worth evolving Zubat?

  • Crobat, as a PoisonFlying attacker, has good use in lots of Ultra League limited metas. If you catch a Zubat with decent PVP IVs it would be worth evolving and investing to get a solid Ultra League Crobat (2500CP or lower).
