Friends who slay together…
- Children of Morta, the family-themed top-down hack ‘n slash RPG, now has co-op
- Jump into multiplayer simply by sending a code to a friend in Children of Morta
- Enjoy some friendly aid in both Story and Family Trials mode
In terms of recent releases one which decidedly caught the eye of those of us here at the office was Children of Morta. This roguelike hack ‘n slash RPG had an unusual premise as it focuses on a clan of Belmont-esque monster hunters battling evil. It’s unusual to have something like this offer a theme of familial harmony, but nonetheless, Children of Morta seemed to carry it off well.
However, if you’re like me, you might have found it ironic that a release which focuses so squarely on themes of family didn’t have anything in the way of multiplayer. Until now, that is! Because Children of Morta’s latest post-launch update is here, introducing online co-op.
Available in both Story and Family Trials mode, now you can team up with a friend to take on the Corruption together. Simply share a code for them to use in-game and soon you’ll be hacking, slashing and slaying together with the best of ’em!
Children behave
I think that Children of Morta is one of that rare breed of release that manages to sell itself quite well on the concept. After all, while monster-hunting clans such as the Belmonts are fairly common in gaming, that kind of ancestral slaying rarely translates to much outside of talk about cursed bloodlines and such.
So with that in mind the addition of co-op is a natural fit; and the simplicity of being able to do so in-game via code will, I’m sure, encourage many players to give it a go!
