- Dream Games’ Royal Kingdom has kicked off a star-studded ad campaign
- Lebron James, Jimmy Fallon and other celebs star in their own commercials
- It’s aimed to propel Royal Kingdom to the same success predecessor Royal Match had
By now, if you’ve spent any time at all on Youtube you’ve probably been exposed to adverts for Dream Games’ Royal Match. King Robert’s endless escapades and near-death experiences have helped propel this match-three’s popularity, but now its followup Royal Kingdom is taking a new tack with a star-studded celebrity advertising campaign.
While celebrity endorsement campaigns are nothing new, Dream Games seem to be covering every conceivable niche with their latest crop of adverts. Be it Lebron James’ famous propensity for reading being used to cover a sneaky session of Royal Kingdom, or Kevin Hart enlisting an entire acting school to cover his roles and give him more time to play.
Royal Kingdom is, of course, the follow-up to the aforementioned Royal Match which proved to be a smash hit for Dream Games. And undoubtedly the attempt here is to bring in players outside of the usual match-three audience.
Life could be a dream
While Dream Games’ success may still pale in comparison to leviathans such as King and their megahit Candy Crush, they’ve been making their mark on mobile for a few years now. And certainly, while other celebrity crossovers like Supercell’s Clashamania crossover with the WWE have concentrated on a single niche to appeal to, Dream Games seem to be casting their net a lot wider.
Business-wise, Royal Kingdom and Royal Match are the current big success stories in the country of Türkiye. Even outside of business considerations though, the wifi-free gameplay and other features seems to have connected well with players the world over.
