- FAU-G: Domination is out now on Android, with iOS soon to follow
- It offers tactical gameplay and a focus on Indian culture and characters
- At launch, it boasts five maps and a variety of India-set maps
For the past couple of years, one of the most interesting projects to come out of India has been the upcoming FAU-G: Domination. A bona fide AAA-esque shooter aimed at a domestic audience, and now you can finally get your hands on it as it hits official release for Android, with iOS soon to follow.
While FAU-G is focused pretty squarely on multiplayer, its overarching meta-narrative pretty clearly demonstrates who it’s aimed towards. Taking a break from the idea of well-known special forces and nebulous multinationals in favour of casting the fictional all-Indian anti-terror force, FAU-G, as the central characters.
This focus on Indian culture is also present when it comes to the locations showcased in-game, as you’ll duke it out across the sprawling city of Delhi, desert outposts of Jodhpur and the crammed shipping containers of Chennai, areas instantly recognisable to Indian players.
Shoot to thrill
It’s not just in maps and characters that FAU-G is jam-packed, however, as it also comes with all the requisite content you’d expect from a multiplayer shooter. At launch, it boasts five modes: 5v5 Team Deathmatch, Sniper Duels, Weapon Race, and more. All of which are intended to offer the familiar tactical gameplay of something like Modern Warfare and Counter-Strike.
Alongside the similarly multiplayer-focused Indus, FAU-G: Domination is an excellent demonstration of how India, a country with a massive mobile audience, is working to create its own domestic hits to compete with outside imports. And now that it’s out there, we’re going to find out whether FAU-G hits the mark for hungry gamers.
In the meantime, if you’re playing from outside India or just looking for even more suggestions to help scratch itchy trigger fingers, you’ve come to the right place. Check out our list of the best shooters for Android and iOS right here!
