This “newly reimagined FIFA football simulation game” will be available for free to everyone with a Netflix membership.
FIFA is about to make its comeback, with a new game announced ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The thing is, it won’t be the usual big PC and console release. You’ll only need Netflix and a phone to play it. And you’ll be able to do so solo or online.
That’s right, the latest EA SPORTS FC challenger will be available exclusively on Netflix Games and is currently in development by Delphi Interactive.
Excited? Dumbfounded? Shocked, as if a football just hit you in the head? Either way, there’s more to follow in the section below.
The next FIFA game will be free to Netflix members
In the announcement, Alain Tascan, President of Games at Netflix, explained that the idea behind the next FIFA game is to “bring football back to its roots with something everyone can play with just the touch of a button.”
It seems FIFA is indeed “changing the game,” moving away from the traditional release model we’ve been used to. The upcoming football sim will be available for free to all Netflix members, “on select TVs in certain countries, with plans to roll out further over time.”
While there’s no exact release date yet, Netflix’s tweet says to get ready for summer 2026. There’s no gameplay or screenshots to accompany the announcement, so that’s pretty much it for now.
FIFA is changing the game.
