  • Astral Takers is the newest JRPG from publisher Kemco

Another day ending with Y, and it’s another Kemco release as the classic RPG publisher has put its latest upcoming launch, Astral Takers, into pre-registration on Google Play! This JRPG journey boasts all the conventions of the genre, complete with a strange but imaginative story.

Astral Takers sees you playing as the young summoner Revyse, whose training under the master Volgrim is interrupted by the appearance of a strange amnesiac girl called Aurora. To protect her from the Empire which regards her as a witch you’ll have to make use of summoning to bring heroes from other worlds to fight alongside you!

Like all of Kemco’s releases, Astral Takers is a classic JRPG in both the good and the bad ways. On the one hand, you have a density of plot and epic battles as you level up your characters to truly staggering epochs of power. On the other, that density of plot can get in the way, and if an animesque art style puts you off then this certainly isn’t for you.

Onto the Astral plane

At the same time, Kemco’s releases tend to be of a pretty decent quality. Final Fantasy this ain’t, but as far as budget releases go you could do a lot worse. And with the ability to try out a free demo of each of their releases (Astral Takers being no different) there’s not really much to lose by giving it a try-before-you-buy.

In the meantime, while you’re waiting for Astral Takers to properly launch you may find yourself at a bit of a loose end. If so, why not occupy your time with some of the new launches that we’ve collated in our latest list of the top five new mobile games to try this week?
