Battlefield 6, likely the most anticipated FPS release of 2025, launches next week on October 10. Today, Electronic Arts has revealed what players can expect in the months ahead.
The first major update is scheduled for October 28, marking the start of the game’s Season 1. This will bring the initial wave of Battlefield 6 free post-launch content, followed by more phases in November and December. EA has confirmed that the game will receive strong ongoing support, with each season introducing new content monthly, including maps, modes, weapons, and other features.

Battlefield 6 Season 1 in detail
As mentioned above, Battlefield 6 Season 1 will unfold in three phases. The first one, Rogue Ops, begins on October 28. Players will be able to wreak havoc on Blackwell Fields, a new map supporting all combat sizes, and try out Strikepoint mode, featuring small, tactical battles for objectives. This update will also introduce weapons such as the SOR-300C and Mini Scout sniper rifle, along with additional attachments.
The second phase, California Resistance, arrives on November 18 and brings the new map Eastwood and an 8v8 Sabotage mode, along with more weapons, attachments, and Battle Pickups. The final phase, Winter Offensive, is set for December 9 and concludes Season 1 with the limited-time event Ice Lock, featuring the Freeze gameplay modifier. Players will also have the chance to unlock a melee weapon, the ice climbing axe.
