- COD: Warzone Mobile is being pulled off the App Store and Play Store
- Online access remains for now
- You can redeem your leftover points in COD: Mobile
After barely a year on the market, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is winding down. Activision has confirmed that the mobile version of the hit battle royale won’t receive any more seasonal updates or new content, and it’s been pulled from app stores as of May 18th. Real-money purchases are already disabled, and those who haven’t installed the app by the cutoff date will lose access for good.
The move marks a sudden end to a high-profile mobile release that aimed to bring the full Warzone experience to mobile-first audiences. While the studio says it’s proud of how faithfully the title recreated Warzone on handheld devices, the game reportedly failed to hit the same marks with mobile players as it did on PC and console.
If you already have the game installed, you can still access it and play online after May 19th. Matchmaking and online play will continue for now, but social features will be disabled and there’s no timeline yet for full server shutdowns. In terms of monetisation, the in-game store will remain available for now, but only for those with existing COD Points, and nothing new can be purchased.
As a small consolation, those with leftover COD Points can redeem them in Call of Duty: Mobile. Currently available running through August 15th, if you log in to Call of Duty: Mobile with the same Activision account, you will receive double the value of your unused Warzone Mobile COD Points, along with additional rewards.
For those who haven’t installed or reinstalled the game by May 19th, this is the last call. After that, no refunds will be issued, and the game will be inaccessible. It’s a disappointing end to what was billed as a major expansion of the Warzone universe and quite a bleak reminder that even the biggest franchises aren’t guaranteed long-term success on mobile.
