Inspired by the Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, political and military struggles play out across the series’ engrossing games full of intense combat that can see players take on thousands of enemies at once!
Slightly confusingly, this long-running franchise actually started in 1997 as a traditional 1v1 fighting game, with the now-iconic hack-and-slash overhaul coming in the 2000 release of Dynasty Warrior 2.
