Fans of creative twists on rogue-lites are enjoying the heck out of the free Clover Pit demo on Steam right now, with enough playing all at once to see the game make its way onto Steamdb’s trending list.
Apparently “born from the twisted minds behind Balatro and Buckshot Roulette” (though neither developer has shared an announcement), CloverPit starts with you in a locked rusty cell, with only a slot machine, ATM, and a vending machine for company.
And an ominous voice from above.
Why are you there? Well, you’ve got debts. Bad. And you’ll need to pay them off, should you wish to ever be free again. Unfortunately, the only way to raise enough cash to repay what you earn is by playing the slot machine and trying your luck.
There are lucky charms to earn and unlock, which will increase your chance of success. But fail to pay back a ‘deadline fee’ by the end of three rounds and… well… let’s not go there.
How to play the free CloverPit Steam demo
To play the free CloverPit demo, all you need to do is click the button below, which will take you to its Steam page.
If you’re signed in to your account, you should then see a green ‘Download’ button. Hit that. Once complete, you should now be able to launch CloverPit on your PC — assuming you have the Steam client installed.
