While I’m comfortable saying Netflix still very much rules the roost when it comes to mobile gaming, what with its bevvy of top indie releases, it now faces some stiff competition from anime streaming platform Crunchyroll. Now, the Crunchyroll Game Vault has expanded with three new additions!
These releases certainly couldn’t be more different either, as we see everything from psychological thriller visual novels to fun gem-busting puzzlers. Crunchyroll has certainly not shied away from providing unusual Japanese releases for its audience; so here’s what they’ve got in store for you…
- The House in Fata Morgana: Journey through a mysterious gothic mansion, guided by an enigmatic maid as you explore various eras and uncover the tragic past of its inhabitants.
- Magical Drop VI: Classic, fast-paced arcade puzzle action sees you busting gems and playing a variety of modes while using the distinctive abilities of your tarot-inspired characters.
- Kitaria Fables: The most modern release in this lineup, it features a world full of cutesy critters and plenty of action RPG gameplay as you battle enemies and build your own farm on which to grow crops.

As I noted above, the Crunchyroll Game Vault has become an increasingly interesting part of what the service offers. Netflix has often struggled to find its footing despite boasting some truly great indie releases that you otherwise can’t find on mobile, yet it still struggles to get its users to actually engage with it.
Crunchyroll, conversely, seems to have found quite a niche by bringing many cult classic releases to the West, which would otherwise be unavailable anywhere else, let alone on mobile.
Certainly, I can say that Catherine’s previous review has had its main point redressed with the expansion of Crunchyroll Game Vault’s catalogue. Now standing at over 50 titles the only question I suppose, is what’s next?
