The latest horror game from Supermassive, creators of Until Dawn and The Quarry, sends players to an alien planet inhabited by something beyond human understanding.
Directive 8020 will take us to the future, setting its story in a universe where Earth, and humanity along with it, is on the brink of extinction. After crash-landing on Tau Ceti f, the crew of the colony ship Cassiopeia finds itself fighting for survival against aliens capable of imitating other creatures, including humans.
This Alien and The Thing mashup naturally features Supermassive Games’ signature “decisions that matter,” with a story tree that branches based on your choices and leads to multiple endings. It can be played solo or with up to five players in a couch co-op mode.
Preorders for Directive 8020 are now available on PC, Xbox Series S|X, and PlayStation 5, and for a limited time, pre-purchases include a free Digital Deluxe Upgrade. More on that below.

The crash landing on Tau Ceti f is fast approaching. Directive 8020’s release date is set for May 12, 2026, across all platforms.

Without any discounts, Directive 8020’s price is $49.99 on both PC and consoles. Right now, several stores and keyshops are offering cheaper preorder options, which you can find in the widget below.

Is Directive 8020 coming to Game Pass or PlayStation Plus?
No, Directive 8020 will not be available on Game Pass or PlayStation Plus on day one. If it ever gets announced as coming to either of the services, we’ll definitely let you know.
That said, if you would like to try other titles by Supermassive Games beforehand, PlayStation Plus’s Game Catalog currently includes Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope, with The Casting of Frank Stone arriving on April 21 (and also available via Xbox Game Pass).
