Electronic Arts introduces significantly higher EA Play subscription prices

The hike is shockingly steep.

Electronic Arts has made the decision that it’s time to charge more for access to its subscription service, EA Play. Previously, both monthly and annual memberships were quite affordable; those days are now behind us, however, as the company has introduced significantly higher prices.

How much is the EA Play subscription after the price increase?

The EA Play price increase will impact all relevant platforms, meaning EA App and Steam on PC as well as Xbox and PlayStation consoles. As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, current subscribers to EA’s service will have to pay the new prices starting May 10. Meanwhile, new subscribers are already subject to the higher membership fees.

How big is the EA Play price increase? The changes are listed here:

  • EA Play (1 month): from $4.99 / £3.99 to  $5.99 / £5.99
  • EA Play (1 year): from $29.99 / £19.99 to $39.99 / £35.99.
  • EA Play Pro (1 month): from $14.99 / £14.99 to $16.99 / £16.99
  • EA Play Pro (1 year): from $99.99 / £89.99 to  $119.99 / £109.99

Fans of FIFA, Battlefield, Need for Speed, and other franchises owned by Electronic Arts who’d like to have access to these games via subscription will sadly have to settle for the new pricing.
