Ruchiruno Games has just revealed their latest project, Energy Drain Shooter, which is set to release on Japanese storefronts next month. This fast-paced shooter challenges you to absorb energy from enemy bullets while dodging waves of attacks and striking back with powerful homing lasers. Pre-registrations for Energy Drain Shooter are currently open on the App Store and Google Play.
The core mechanic lies in the name itself. Energy Drain rewards you for narrowly avoiding enemy fire. The closer you get, the more energy you absorb, which fills your gauge and boosts your score. If you play aggressively and master this system, you can unlock Hard Mode, where enemy attacks become even more intense.
You have three attack options – melee strikes, normal shots, and homing lasers. Normal shots can be powered up by passing through special gates, while the homing laser locks onto multiple enemies at once, wiping them out in a chain reaction. At the end of each stage, a boss fight awaits, filling the screen with a complex bullet pattern that forces you to react quickly and manoeuvre strategically.
Each of the five stages features different enemy formations, obstacles, and attack patterns. Surviving means more than just dodging – you need to manage your energy, position yourself wisely, and time your attacks. Bullet hell encounters range from laser barrages to blade-like projectiles, keeping each battle unpredictable.

If you’re looking for an extra challenge, Hard Mode unlocks after achieving a high score in Normal Mode. With faster enemies and more complex bullet patterns, it will push your reflexes and strategy to the limit.
