What else will be shown at The Game Awards 2025?
Geoff Keighley and co. like to keep some surprises under wraps for the event itself, but there are a few bits and pieces of info that have already been confirmed.
First up, we know that we’ll be getting a look at gameplay for next Resident Evil game, Requiem, which is releases on February 27, 2026, with box art suggesting that your friend and ours, Leon Kennedy will feature, after all.
Excitement has been bubbling away among the masses of Mass Effect fans ever since its spiritual successor, Exodus, was announced, and a story-based gameplay trailer is planned to be shown off on Thursday.
Crystal Dynamics has said they’ll be providing details on the future of the Tomb Raider games, which we can only imagine means a new game reveal.
Creative Assembly announced Total War’s, “next major release,” will debut at The Game Awards, and represent, “one of the most ambitious projects in the franchise’s history, marking the beginning of an exciting new era.” Previous rumors have speculated it could be Star Wars-themed. Others have poured cold water on that idea.
Neon Giant, developer of The Ascent, look set to be showing off a mysterious upcoming game after posting on Twitter, “Nothing is off limits. Don’t miss December 11.”
The official Twitter account for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight posted a teaser saying, “See you all Thursday night.”
We’ll receive news of a planned release date for Phantom Blade Zero, the wuxia action-RPG from S-Game that’s due out on PC and PlayStation 5 at some point in late 2026.
And the meaning behind regal.inspiring.thickness will, presumably, reveal itself too.
So far, leaks have been few and far between, but the PC release date for Death Stranding 2, and news of another Control game have broken containment in recent weeks, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see those trailed at TGAs 2025.
