Hogwarts Legacy is now Xbox Play Anywhere. Could it be heading to Game Pass too?

It’s the latest game to receive the XPA badge, adding to the 1000+ titles already found in the library.

Hogwarts Legacy has become the latest title to join Xbox Play Anywhere. And if you’re only hearing about the program now, you’re probably not alone, because Microsoft doesn’t shout about it.

Which is a shame, because it’s actually a really neat feature that you won’t find on PlayStation or Nintendo Switch consoles.

What is Xbox Play Anywhere?

Simply put, Xbox Play Anywhere is an initiative by Microsoft that lets you to play 1000+ games across PC, Xbox consoles, and supported handhelds, with achievement tracking and cross-saves included.

When you buy a Play Anywhere-supported game from Xbox or the Microsoft Store, that single purchase unlocks access to both the PC and console version.

It’s like buying one copy and receiving two.

Some popular titles already found in the program include, No Man’s Sky, Forza Horizon 5, Outer Wilds, Dredge, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. And now, Hogwarts Legacy.

Top tip: For XPA games on GG.deals, look for titles with an ‘Xbox & PC’ or ‘Xbox Series & PC’ tab.

Is Hogwarts Legacy coming to Game Pass?

In the past, we’ve seen the likes of RoboCop: Rogue City get the Xbox Play Anywhere treatment shortly before joining Game Pass.

And although there’s been no official announcement as yet, we wouldn’t at all be surprised if that was to come when the first wave of XPG arrivals for October is shared by Microsoft later this week.

So, if you’re yet to grab a cheap Game Pass subscription, now might be the time!
