Sony console warriors might claim a W, but it’s Microsoft that’s laughing all the way to the bank.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle sold almost 120K copies since launching on PlayStation last week, according to data from gaming industry analysts Alinea Analytics.
That’s despite already being available on Xbox and Steam for four months.
It’s an impressive figure; one that not only points to PlayStation’s continued dominance in the console space this generation, but also adds validation to Microsoft’s expanding multi-platform strategy.
First reported by VGC, and as you can see in the above graphic, Machine Games’ Indy title had sold 117.2K by day seven post-launch, compared to 91.2K sales on Steam over the same number of days, following its December 2024 release, representing an increase of 28%.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has enjoyed 310K Steam sales to date — it’s PlayStation launch is expected to match and surpass that.
As for Xbox, Alinea estimates the game has reached almost 5M players on the platform, but they make sure to point out that the ‘overwhelming majority’ of that number comes via Game Pass subscriptions, rather than outright sales.
Considering The Great Circle’s success on PS5, it’ll be interesting to see how another of Xbox’s first-party hits performs, when Forza Horizon 5 arrives on PlayStation tomorrow, April 29.
