Techland returns with another gory entry into the Dying Light series. But is it a beast of a game, or just beastly?
You might be aware that The Beast was initially slated to be a DLC for Dying Light 2, but as with Hollow Knight: Silksong (which was also first planned as an expansion to the original by its developers, Team Cherry), Techland’s scope and ambition became so large that they decided to release it as a standalone title.
And from the first batch of reviews that have started to appear online, we’re thankful they did, even if it meant waiting a little longer for the game’s release.
And don’t forget, if you own Dying Light 2: Stay Human Ultimate Edition on any platform, you should now be entitled to a copy of The Beast 100% free!
Set in the post-apocalyptic zombie-infested Castor Woods, the game sees you breaking free from captivity following more than a decade of torturous and dehumanizing experiments, and now it’s time for your captors to face retribution!
You’ll meet various factions on your journey, with some containing people looking for help, some who want to kill you — and lots (we mean lots) of zombies. And did we mention the mysterious creature that’s been spotted using the woods as its slaughterhouse?
Are the Dying Light: The Beast reviews good?
If the early scores are anything to by, it looks like Techland has delivered us another thoroughly raucous ride in Dying Light: The Beast.
At the time of writing, OpenCritic is showing a ‘Mighty’ average score of 86, which is actually higher than the 74 and 76 that the first two Dying Light titles ended up with.

Is Dying Light The Beast on Game Pass or PlayStation Plus?
Unfortunately, no, Dying Light The Beast is not available on Game Pass or PlayStation Plus at launch.
However, both Microsoft and Sony are constantly working in the background on deals, so we wouldn’t rule it out appearing on either service in the future.
