John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando gets a FREE Steam demo ahead of February’s Next Fest

Get in the car, we’ve got some zombies to obliterate!

Steam’s massive weeklong showcase of the latest demos starts on Monday, but you can already play some of the games that’ll feature during the February 2026 Next Fest right now.

One title taking part that we reckon GG users might want to know about is John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando. With 5.4K user wishlists, it looks like the blend of ’80s nostalgia, co-op gameplay, and over-the-top zombie-horde annihilation has struck a chord.

It’s full release isn’t far off at all, arriving on March 12. You can currently save 15% by preordering, and there’s a Toxic Commando Steam demo ready for you to try too.

Designed to help you get to grips with the game’s freeform FPS and off-road mechanics, the Toxic Commando demo lets you play through 2 full missions, and is fully co-op, so grab up to 3 friends and jump into the action!

First, make sure you’ve got the Steam client installed and you’re signed in to your account.
