“Umm, guys… my kid is pregnant,” reads a concerned player’s post on Reddit. And it seems the infamous mode has nothing to do with it.
Another day, another bug… Seasoned fans of this beloved life simulator are no strangers to bizarre glitches that could make even non-players do a double take. However, this latest one is raising not just brows but genuine concerns — and there are screenshots to prove it.
The culprit might be Patch 176, i.e. the latest update released on February 25 for both PC and consoles. This update reintroduced burglars, a long-missed feature from the previous installment (pro tip: make sure you’ve got an alarm system installed on your lots). But along with the welcome dose of nostalgia, the patch also delivered a disturbing surprise.

Reddit user FutureApricot8074 shared an image showing a visibly pregnant child in Sims 4, which immediately sparked a flurry of discussion in the comments. Other players chimed in to report the same bizarre bug, some even attaching their own screenshots as proof. It appears that the glitch is mixing up body presets between adults and children, leading to kids sporting abnormally large bellies. Whether this is just a minor visual mix-up or something more tangled in the game’s code, we’ll leave that to the armchair experts in the comments section.
The good news? There’s no need to worry about actual child pregnancies in your game — this bug only affects how the Sims look, not their life stages or gameplay. However, as of February 27, Maxis has yet to release a hotfix, so there’s a chance you might still encounter this unsettling sight in your own game.
