Roar Rampage Classic tasks you with destroying all in your path, coming soon iOS and Android

  • Roar Rampage returns in its classic form for iOS, and the first time on Android!
  • Play as a rampaging kaiju bashing down opponents and buildings with a giant boxing glove
  • Unlock different skins themed after famous kaiju

There’s a timeless appeal to the destruction of a city. Perhaps it’s the temptation of the abyss as Soren Kierkegaard once put it. Or maybe we just love to see things get blown up, as Michael Bay always puts it. In any case, in Roar Rampage it’s just you, your scaly brawn and a giant boxing glove, and the world is your punching bag as this classic makes a welcome return.

Akin to its spiritual namesake, Roar Rampage is all about the power fantasy of being a super-dangerous kaiju stomping around and destroying everything that stands in your way. You’ll need to cope with the military opposition, however, who’ll be trying to stop you every step of the way.

Accurate timing is key to ensuring that you’re able to knock projectiles and enemies out of the sky or smash buildings to the ground before you start taking hits. And what with your incredible bulk there’s no chance of dodging, unfortunately.

Raaampage!!!

Roar Rampage boasts of its soundtrack and an extensive roster of skins to unlock, many of which are obviously inspired by classic kaiju like Mechagodzilla. But I think that the big selling point here is in its simplicity, something like this would’ve been a smash hit on the Flash game sites of yore, I’m certain.

Considering that Roar Rampage also comes to us from the developer behind Shovel Pirate, Slime Labs and other great releases, I think that even if you’re sceptical of your enjoyment around ruthless destruction you’ll find plenty to enjoy here. So keep an eye out for Roar Rampage, coming April 3rd.

If you want to take a step outside of retro rampaging and into the world of strategy meanwhile, why not go ahead and take a gander at our review of Songs of Conquest and see what this HOMM-like has to offer players old and new alike?
