Roland-Garros eSeries by Renault Final Stage is set to kick off May 24th in spectacular show

  • Roland-Garros eSeries by Renault’s eight finalists have been announced
  • Reigning champion Alessandro Bianco will face off against 7 other finalists on May 24th
  • The eight finalists will be split into two teams and captained by a tennis legend

If there was any doubt that Roland-Garros eSeries by Renault was one of the biggest eSport tournaments, let’s dispel that. 515,000 players from 221 countries took part in 9.5 million Tennis Clash matches for a chance to reach the Final Stage. Eight have, in an event to remember.

Reigning champion Alessandro Bianco and winner of the first Open Qualifier Hizir Balkanci will be joined by Anyndia Lestari, Omer Feder, Adjua Thembisa Boucher, Eugen Mosdir, Bartu Yildirim and Samuel Sanin Ortiz. They will face off in a heated battle on May 24th in the Roland-Garros Tenniseum.

If that wasn’t exciting enough, this year’s format promises to be electrifying. The eight finalists will be split into two teams, each captained by a legend. Former ATP world Number 6 (and one of last year’s 8 finalists) Gilles Simon will lead one side, with former Wimbledon Champion Marion Bartoli helming the other.

The teams will face off in a series of matches against each other, with the winners entering the Winner Bracker. It doesn’t stop here, though, as the eliminated players will enter the Loser Bracket for a chance to save themselves. Here, teams dissolve, and there can only be one crowned Roland-Garros eSeries champion.

Keeping viewers entertained is Samuel Etienne, a renowned French personality and Twitch streamer with over 1 million Twitch followers. He will be joined by esports expert Quento and former Tennis Clash number 1 Benny, aka GP365. The tournament will be recreated in Roland-Garros spirit, with a replica of the iconic Philippe-Chatrier court and custom outfits. Finally, esteemed French umpire Aurélie Tourte will call what promises to be a series of exciting matches.

250 spectators will be in attendance at the auditorium, and the event will also be broadcast on Samuel Etienne’s Twitch and the Roland-Garros YouTube channels at 4pm CEST. You will be able to watch every match and enjoy interactive segments, with special guests engaging in passionate discussions and having fun around the worlds of tennis and eTennis.
